Charles Worthington BAFTA Suite

On Saturday I was lucky enough to visit the Charles Worthington BAFTA Suite at The Dorchester whilst my friend Karena Sedgwick interviewed Marc Trinder from the Charles Worthington creative team. Marc was the creative talent behind the gorgeous hair at the Erdem A/W 10 show and he also worked his magic at BAFTAs on Sunday.

The suite was beautifully decorated and as you can see there was a plentiful supply of champagne! We even saw Charles himself (very briefly). I bumped into him again at the Erdem show on Monday and he was absolutely charming.

Marc was a lovely, down to earth guy. I can’t give anything away about the interview but it will be available in the March 8th issue of Grazia Magazine!

Accessories For LFW

CHANELSCARFERDEMSHOPPER

This week has been a flurry of anticipation for LFW. After doing my Packing For LFW post earlier in the week I realised that I still desperately needed more staples. With my bank balance in pre-LFW deficit I decided to look into hiring accessories for the weekend.

After investigating a few online companies Glasgow based Kennedy Purple came to my rescue. For just £50 the Chanel shopper tote is mine for the week AND the lovely Joanne threw in an Erdem scarf too!

The bag and scarf were beautifully packaged in cellophane and ribbons. Lovely!

I can’t wait to show up in London with my fab accessories.

Ps. If you fancy trying out Kennedy Purple I  found a 20% off code- COVETED20 which is valid until the end of March. I wish I’d seen this before I hired!

Packing for LFW

Very exciting news! I’ve been invited to attend LFW with my best blogging pal- Karena Sedgwick, Winner of Make Me Front Row and founder of  My New Best Friends. Karena is the most talented, hard working girl I know and I’m so excited for our weekend of shopping, schmoozing, partying and of course the much anticipated Erdem show where we’ll be front row!

In preparation for my trip to London I’ve been trying to decide on the essentials for my LFW  ‘capsule wardrobe’. My PR, Becky White, pointed me in the direction of this fantastic Elle article. There are some great ideas for anyone who is unsure of what to wear.

So far I’ve decided on the following LFW must-haves;

1) Loads of accessories to change a look instantly – Chain necklace, reduced to £2, Dorothy Perkins, Lace headband, £6, Topshop, Legend ring, £8 and Heart ring £8 ,both from ASOS

2) Bold print silk scarfs-  Classic skull scarf, Alexander McQueen ,Pink splash scarf, £80, Olivia Rubin

3) A big bag to carry laptop/Blackberry/camera/everything from show to show- Balenciaga Part-time, Balenciaga

4) Comfy shoes that you can walk in all day long- Heeled lace-up biker boots, £74.99, River Island, Basic nude pumps, £16, Topshop

5) Mini-products- Loads of mini shampoo and shower gel to save room in my suitcase for the important things- clothes,   shoes and bags

6) Tights- The weather is dire and I’ll freeze in my SS10 clothes. Solution= tights. I have the really thick 120 denier and some pretty lace ones.

Now it’s time to plan the clothes!

UPDATE:  Fashionair have a great video about LFW outfit choices. Bev Malik looks amazing. I might have to steal some of her ideas.

If you’re a designer addict and you haven’t heard of Fashion Confidential then bookmark it now!

Fashion Confidential is a one stop site for designer clothing, sample sale alerts and style tips. The site is similar to Fashionair but it offers VIP treatment for members.

The Bargain Hunter section of the site is GENIUS! It boasts the details of all the hottest designer sample sales and has a calendar with all the dates (I’ve fully loaded the calendar on my blackberry!). The Bargain Hunter also picks out the best discounted items from sites like the Outnet, Matches Style Steals and Browns Labels for Less.  I can tell I’m going to get addicted!

I really love the boutique directory. I’m always searching for new fashion stores and this is packed with some gems that I’d never heard of (as well as the good old favourites!). It’s definitely worth browsing. There is also a new in section which shows all the latest items to hit boutiques. This is great if you like to keep ahead of the game!

I was excited to see that Fashion Confidential has an e-zine full of beautiful clothes and designer interviews. I spend so long browsing blogs and fashion sites and it’s great to see one with so much magazine style content. The latest issue has an unmissable interview with Matthew Williamson, who I love!

You can sign up for Fashion Confidential here.

River Island have teamed up with Nabil El-Nayal , winner of last years Graduate Fashion Week Womenswear Award, for a mini collection.

There are two LBDs to choose from but the one above is my favourite. It’s gothic, Wintry and a snip at just £49.99.

The collection is selling out fast so hurry for your chance to get a limited edition piece by an up and coming designer!

This sweater from River Island is gorgeous.

You don’t often see sequins and fairisle in the same sentence but it totally works. Glam AND casual for just £45.
